An Interview With Eshika Amarnani Where She Talks All Things Poetry And Music

Editor: Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

Eshika Amarnani: Hailing from Lucknow, Urdu write-ups and Sufi music has always been a part of my upbringing. I have always been influenced by raw/unplugged original music, mostly Sufi, Kalama and Bhajans as I’m a spiritually inclined soul.

 

Editor: Tell us about your achievements as a musician? 

Eshika: I have sung at local clubs for a few years in mixed genre and off late, I’ve started writing poetry, so writing too has added wings to my craft. Mostly Urdu and Hindi mix language is used in my write-ups that I perform at various events and open mic nights.

 

Editor: Tell us about your songs which have been released until date. Is there a song you feel most proud of? 

Eshika: “Humkhayal” was released at One Song platform. It’s an inner journey from of self love which inspired and motivated me to write more. It talks of our own inner depth, we seek while the truth is inside….just a matter of perception!

 

Editor: Where did you get that confidence to perform on stage?

Eshika: Prithavi theatre performance and Hootedice Open Mic Cafe motivated me to leap ahead.

 

Editor: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Eshika: Inspiring lives around, with my voice and write-ups in future by doing live performances.

 

Editor: What is your dream project?

Eshika: To make an inspirational audio video of my craft about my journey.

 

Editor: What would you like people to take away from your music?

Eshika: Strength and undying spirit of hope and love.

Editor: Any upcoming album or song release you want to share with us?

Eshika: Khudh sa Ishq (poetry) is upcoming and I’m really excited.

 

Editor: Are you into songwriting? What are your main impulses to write about music?

Eshika: Music has its own way of healing the heart and the soul. Nature has enough inspiration to carve raw music in itself.

 

Editor: What is your opinion about One Song? Do you think it’s a valuable platform for the career growth of musicians like you?

Eshika: It’s an amazing platform to explore new horizons with a wider audience and get motivated to do better! Varun is doing an awesome job for all the upcoming artists!
