Editor: Could you tell us a bit about yourself and how you entered the music industry?
Elexis Ansley: I first got my start in the industry singing pop and EDM music. I’ve always had a deep love for house and I love writing dance music that’s encouraging, positive, and uplifting.
Editor: Tell us about your achievements as a musician?
Elexis: My EDM single “One Life” peaked at #16 on the Billboard Dance Club Charts which was a huge achievement for me. Recently, newest single “Light Shower” debuted at #46 and has since rose to #38. I’m very excited to see how this song climbs the charts because it’s very special to me!
Editor: Tell us about your songs which have been released until date. Is there a song you feel most proud of?
Elexis: I would say the song that I’m most proud of is “Light Shower”. It’s my favorite song that I’ve written to date and the music video has such a cosmic feel. The light show that ensues is visually captivating, colorful, and eye-catching. This song is all about showing love and compassion to those who don’t necessarily want to see you do well in your life. I’m also really attached to “One Life”, as the music video was a huge project for me and I think has a really important message of living your best life to the fullest.
Editor: Where did you get that confidence to perform on stage?
Elexis: Getting the confidence to perform was definitely a journey. I think that it’s all about self-love. If you can truly love and accept yourself for who you are, imperfections and all, you can find the courage to do anything.
Editor: What would you like people to take away from your music?
Elexis: I’d like people to take away an aspect of positivity from my music, to see the glass as half full. I hope to help people change their outlook to hope instead of doubt and to believe that they can be, do, or have anything that they desire.

Editor: Are you into songwriting? What are your main impulses to write about music?
Elexis: Yes, I write my own songs. I like to write from experiences in my life that have in some way inspired me. It’s important for me to write from the heart, no matter what I might be going through at the time. To me, that’s what makes art so beautiful.
Editor: What is your opinion about One Song? Do you think it’s a valuable platform for the career growth of musicians like you?
Elexis: One Song is valuable because it shares so much wisdom about other artists’ paths and you really learn something new from each musician’s story.
