Editor: Could you tell us a bit about yourself and how you entered the music industry?

Apratim: I always loved singing, right from my childhood. It all started with singing Christmas Carols in my School Days – La Martiniere College. Soon the passion became bigger than I could ever imagine.  Now I am mostly into singing/recording Bollywood songs.

Editor: Tell us about your achievements as a musician?

Apratim: The support that I have gained on Youtube and Instagram. ~14K+ followers on Instagram.

Editor: Tell us about your songs which have been released until date. Is there a song you feel most proud of?

Apratim: “Sandese Aate hai” – it remains close to my heart.

Editor: If you weren’t a singer/musician, what would you be doing right now?

Apratim: Well actually I am doing what I like. Software Engineering as a full-time employee in New York. This city has been my dream too!

Editor: Where did you get that confidence to perform on stage?

Apratim: My Solo School Choir singing 🙂

Editor: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Apratim: Not sure. My life is diverse. I don’t want to set limits or a designated path. We will find out 😉

Editor: What is your dream project?

Apratim: Not sure if there is any project as such. I just want to sing good and bring a smile/surprise on my audience’s face. I want them to enjoy my music/songs. It would be great to inspire a few to follow what they like, especially singing.

Editor: What would you like people to take away from your music?

Apratim: A feel that remains in their heart for a long long time.

Editor: Which Artists Instagram Stories do you follow and why?

Apratim: Sonu Nigam, and many new upcoming singers. It’s good to see and learn from people. Learning should never stop.

Editor: Any upcoming album or song release you want to share with us?

Apratim: Nope. Not anything in mind. I would want to work more on 90s music. I think there is a lot of potential in that music which could be brought out in a different way, especially in my voice. My mashup of the 90s cover was liked a lot by my audience.

Editor: Who were your inspirations growing up?

Apratim: Sonu Nigam

Editor: Are you into songwriting? What are your main impulses to write about music?

Apratim: No. But will get into it soon. Finding time right now 🙂

Editor: Is there any particular advice you would give to up-and-coming vocalists?

Apratim: Focus on improving your singing skills, not recording quality and technique.

Editor: What is your opinion about One Song? Do you think it’s a valuable platform for the career growth of musicians like you?

Apratim: Yes, I think One Song is doing a great job of promoting young singers and artists. It has given them a platform which didn’t exist years back. I remember when I was in my early 20s, all I could do is relay on TV shows like Indian Idol, etc. to reach out to masses, but now in this era (of Instagram / Facebook / YouTube), it is a lot easier for the young budding artists, to showcase their talent.
