Editor: Could you tell us a bit about yourself and how you entered the music industry?

Mia Black: My name is Mia Black. I’m 12 years old from Ireland. Growing up, I always had musicians around me. My family is very musical. I learned most of what I know from just humming & singing along with songs. YouTube videos were really helpful too. Recently, I have started learning guitar & Ukulele. Pop is definitely my favorite Genre.

Editor: Tell us about your achievements as a musician?

Mia: My Dad once said I was humming in tune (in a very basic sense) with the speakerphone dial tone since when I was around 7 months old that was before I could even talk.

I have 4 x demo CD’s, 2 recorded in a studio & 2 live. In June, I was invited to Florida to Colab with Interval 941. Interval 941 are sons of Boyce Avenue. Recording & filming in the Boyce Avenue Studio’s was so amazing. The team & their families are all so friendly. I had so much fun  🙂

I’ve been singing solo since age 7 at concerts, theatre Musicals, and weddings as a guest artist since then. I have many videos on Instagram, Facebook & Youtube.

Editor: If you weren’t a singer/musician, what would you be doing right now?

Mia: Probably acting as I love acting as much as singing 🙂

Editor: Where did you get that confidence to perform on stage?

Mia: Definitely most of it has come from Galway busking, Galway is in the west of Ireland! The 1st time I busked was in August 2018, I was age 11. I was nervous at the beginning but after 2 or 3 times, busking became much easier…

Editor: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Mia: Hopefully writing good music with a good message and acting.

Editor: Which Artists Instagram Stories do you follow and why?

Editor: Who were your inspirations growing up?

Mia: Ariana Grande

Editor: Is there any particular advice you would give to up-and-coming vocalists?

Mia: Listen to different types of music and don’t be afraid to ask for help when singing or writing as it might take a while to find out whats suits your voice.

Editor: What is your opinion about One Song? Do you think it’s a valuable platform for the career growth of musicians like you?

Mia: Of course, everyone needs support & you guys are so supportive. With a helpful team like you have and an exposure that you possess on social media, artists like us can become big. 🙂
